Beyond the Brand: Building a Team, One Uniform at a Time

Hello, and welcome to our second newsletter. We spend much time discussing how uniforms project a business's image, but it's easy to forget the people who wear them every day. A well-fitting, high-quality uniform does more than make a team look professional—it gives them a sense of belonging and pride. At Site Supply, we believe that kitting your team out properly is one of the best investments you can make in their morale.

Since our last newsletter, we’ve been busy helping businesses prepare for the autumn and winter months, ensuring their teams are equipped with durable, comfortable, and smart workwear.

Case Study: The Hotel that Found Its Fit

A few months ago, we collaborated with a UK-based hotel chain that needed to update the uniforms for their front-of-house, housekeeping, and food and beverage teams. They had a clear brief: the new uniforms had to be stylish and elegant, yet practical for long, busy shifts.

The challenge was that the existing workwear looked tired and was inconsistent across different departments and locations. Staff raised concerns about comfort and durability, with many garments failing after frequent washing. Additionally, managing uniform orders and distribution for hundreds of staff across multiple hotels proved a logistical nightmare.

Our Solution

We liaised with the hotel's management to develop a standard programme that ticked all the boxes.

  • A Consistent Look: We created a cohesive look using tailored corporate shirts for reception staff and hard-wearing polos for the housekeeping and catering teams. Added brand-new contemporary shirt styles for various bar & restaurant settings and paired them with the brand-new barista-style aprons.
  • Focus on Comfort: We sourced premium, wrinkle-resistant fabrics that would hold their shape and colour after daily wear and washing.
  • Centralised Ordering: We set up a simple online portal for each hotel manager to order new uniforms, making the process much more efficient whilst protecting the pre-agreed budgets.
  • Professional Fitting: Our team conducted on-site sizing sessions to ensure everyone received the right fit, which reduced returns and made staff feel valued.

The result is that the hotel now has a fresh, unified appearance that both staff and guests have praised. The managers have reported a smoother rollout of the uniform and fewer sizing issues, and new starters can be kitted out quickly. The best part? The staff are proud to wear a uniform that's not only professional but also comfortable to work in.

Quick Tips: Getting Your Branding Right

Considering adding your logo to your uniforms? Here are three tips to make sure it looks its best:

  1. Choose the correct method: Embroidery gives a professional, high-quality finish on polos and jackets, while heat sealing is better for waterproof items like hi-vis vests.
  2. Use high-contrast colours: Make sure your logo stands out clearly for maximum brand recognition.
  3. Provide good artwork: We'll help you get it right, but a high-quality file from your end makes all the difference.
