Don’t Forget Your High Visibility Wet Weather Clothes When Hiking!

There’s nothing more enjoyable than heading out into the open countryside with your walking boots on and your provisions in a knapsack, but you’ve got to make sure you exercise a bit of caution just in case you get lost or the weather closes in around you.

Looking into the appropriate high visibility wet weather gear is certainly advisable if you’re going to be walking in low light conditions. This kind of personal protective equipment is essential for all outdoor enthusiasts, whether you’re a runner, walker or a cyclist, or just a child walking along the road.

There are different levels of high visibility, whether it’s a luminous jacket or vest, or just a strip of reflective plastic or piping. What you’ll need to work out is what kind of light conditions you’ll be walking around in as this will help inform what you buy, although it’d probably be wise just to invest in a highly luminous jacket or similar so you won’t have to worry.

And don’t forget you can buy all sorts of different high vis accessories that you might also want to shop for, especially if you’re taking your dogs with you and want to make sure they’re visible as well. You can buy flashing LED lights, socks, gloves and lots more so it’s just about finding what works for you.

Always make sure you check the weather before you go hiking anywhere so you can work out what you need to take and what you don’t – but you should always pack your high vis just in case
