39% Suffer Injuries At Work, Report Reveals
You’d hope that you’d be as safe at work as you’d be in your own home, but it seems that this may not actually be the case, with new research revealing that 39 per cent of people have actually sustained an injury while in the workplace.
The study, commissioned by personal injury lawyers Hayward Baker, found that 69 per cent of employees in Britain (that’s the equivalent of 21 million people) believe their workplace is actually a health hazard,
the Daily Mirror reports.
In actual fact, two out of ten workers have been hospitalised because of a work-related illness or injury, a statistic that could well impress upon you the importance of hivis workwear and other personal protective equipment.
Other complaints that were highlighted by the survey included unhygienic work colleagues, greasy and slippery floors, cluttered floor spaces and unsanitary toilet facilities. It was also revealed that nearly half of those asked complained to management about the state of the workplace, with an additional 21 per cent stating that their bosses took no action following a complaint being made.
